Glizzies, Brunch Club and the Spookeasy: The Art Behind Our Designs
Our Basement Yard collection has twenty designs, and almost every one of them is a joke from the world of the show. Here's what is printed on each, so you can find the piece that fits your sense of humour.
Which designs star the hosts?
Most of them, in one costume or another.
- Face Off: a vintage fight poster with Frank Alvarez and Joe Santagato nose to nose across a lightning bolt.
- Split Face: one painted face, half Joe and half Frank, under THE BASEMENT YARD EXPERIENCE.
- Ho Ho Ho: two cartoon faces in Santa hats hiding inside big red letters.
- Stitched Heart: the hosts as pale Frankenstein monsters inside a dripping pink heart.
- Starla: a nineties-style photo tee for Starla, one of the show's drag alter egos.
What's with all the hot dogs?
That's Dogsuckin' Season. Dog Suckin Season sends two cartoon hosts flying through a storm of glizzies and UFOs, and Queens Glizzies pairs a bold Queens wordmark on the front with a diner-menu hot dog back.
Which ones are for brunch?
Brunch Club Plate has a cherry-topped whipped cream swirl up front and a full brunch plate on the back, and Brunch Club Mimosas keeps a simple script on the front with a sketch of champagne flutes behind.
Anything spooky?
Plenty. Spookeasy invites you into a skeleton bar and lounge, and Slam Poetry puts three witches under a Santagato Studios banner.
And the rest?
Radio City 2024 remembers the two live nights at Radio City Music Hall, Experience Tuxedos pops champagne in black tie, Welcome Back and Retro Script keep it cheerful, Sailing Team is a varsity joke, Hug Your Bros is pure slogan, two Santagato Studios wordmarks keep it low-key, and Dime Plein-Air, the Montreal skate brand Dime's dandelion artwork, rounds it out.
